Small trip to Rotterdam Motel One and Leotje

We had the pleasure of staying at the Motel One Hotel in Rotterdam located at Grotekerkplien 70, 3011 GE Rotterdam, Netherlands.
We had stayed in the Netherlands on a previous visit and were not happy with the particular large famous hotel chain we had stayed at, it shall not be named. So this time we thought we would try somewhere we had never been before, or heard of, and "oh how we were pleasantly surprised."
Motel One,
The staff were friendly, welcoming, the hotel was very well kept and maintained. The exterior of the building is deceiving as it doesn't look overly lavish, but as soon as you enter you can see that it is comfortable and glimmering with beautiful decor.
For the price that we paid this is by far the best value hotel that we have stayed at and we would definitely stay there again on our next trip. From the room we had a beautiful view out of the window on to Delftsevaart Canal which at night was lit up and a lovely area to walk around.
On arriving in the room the TV was on, with a crackling fireplace and cosy lighting which we thought was a particularly nice effect as warm crackling fireplaces, even if not real ones are warm and welcoming from the go. The bed was very comfortable, clean and had nice bedside tables and lighting.
The hotel had a lovely roof top bar, and the best part of this stay for us, that we purposely picked this hotel for is, it's "dog friendly". We were able to sit in the bar and drink a range of beers and also non-alcoholic selections with our little fur baby for many hours comfortably. We tried for the first time what is now one of my personal favourite beers "Franziskaner Weissbier".
The roof top lounge had beautiful large windows with panoramic views looking out over the whole area. We took a stroll outside and there is outside decking that allows you to walk around the whole perimeter of the roof and photographed some amazing views.
Breakfast
We had paid for breakfast and went early to the roof top bar and were able to sit and eat a buffet range of cheeses, breads, croissants, cereals, fruits, juices, coffees. It was very enjoyable and great for the price we would highly recommend it.
Our only one comment on food at the Motel one is, they do not have any restaurant menu's for the day or evening, they serve only sandwiches and snacks like crisps. But this leads onto our next plus...as the hotel did not have a restaurant we ventured outside and found very close by a restaurant that was perfect in every way!
Loetje,
Rotterdam Centrum
Loetje is a steakhouse based in Rotterdam within walking distance to the hotel, offering a wide range of steaks and also Vegan food! I chose a Steak, and I am so glad I did because it "is" the best steak I have "ever" had in my life. I am a steak lover, a regular of the British Sunday roast and this is one I would without a doubt eat again. My partner in crime had a Vegan burger made from red beetroot and avocado, which she also claimed to be the best Vegan burger she had also ever had.
The steak came served with Gravy, bread for dripping and the burger stack came with sauces and a side of chips.

We hope you have enjoyed this article and will have the pleasure of one day visiting Rotterdam and trying it for yourself!
