The cast for HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter television adaptation has been unveiled, with several award-winning actors set to bring key characters to life.
Johnny Flynn, known for his roles in Ripley on Netflix and the film The Dig, will portray Lucius Malfoy. His son Draco, Harry Potter’s school rival, will be played by Lox Pratt, a young actor who appeared in the BBC's Lord of the Flies.
Bel Powley (The Morning Show) and BAFTA winner Daniel Rigby, recognized for portraying comedian Eric Morecambe in Eric and Ernie, have been cast as Harry’s strict relatives, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon Dursley.
Another BAFTA recipient, Katherine Parkinson—famous for roles in The IT Crowd and Rivals—will play Molly Weasley, Ron’s warm-hearted mother, a role originally brought to life by Julie Walters in the films. Bertie Carvel, who portrayed Tony Blair in The Crown, takes on the role of Cornelius Fudge.

They’ll appear alongside previously announced cast members, including the young actors playing Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Other notable additions include John Lithgow as Professor Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.
The HBO series, a new adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved books, is expected to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027.
