Models of diversity to host Groundbreaking event celebrating Inclusion in Fashion

 

London, On 13th June, Models of Diversity (MOD) will host “Fashioning Change” at Carlton House Terrace, bringing together leading voices in the fashion industry to celebrate and advocate for diversity and inclusion across the sector.

The event, described as MOD’s most ambitious to date, aims to challenge traditional beauty standards through a powerful combination of panel discussions, a photo exhibition, and an inclusive runway show. Since its founding, Models of Diversity has championed greater representation in fashion, and this event is set to further the conversation in a significant way.

One of the key highlights of the day will be “The Panel with Zalando”, an industry-focused discussion featuring a high-profile lineup including Christine McGuiness (author and television presenter), Victoria Jenkins (founder of adaptive fashion brand Unhidden), Dr Carolyn Mair (author of The Psychology of Fashion), and Ella Morgan (award-winning LGBTQ+ advocate and media personality). The panel will explore the question: “Why is inclusion the future of fashion?”, drawing insights from education, psychology, media, and lived experience.

In addition, attendees will be the first to view the launch of “Neuro-Proud”, a powerful photography exhibition by Amanda Akokhia, whose work is acclaimed for its focus on underrepresented communities. Featuring well-known public figure Christine McGuiness, the exhibition seeks to promote awareness and acceptance of neurodiversity through compelling visual storytelling.

Capping off the event is a much-anticipated catwalk show supported by River Island, featuring a cast of diverse models, influencers, and fashion insiders. Continuing MOD’s tradition of inclusive runway events; recognised on the British Fashion Council (BFC) schedule since 2010—the show will spotlight the latest styles from the popular high street brand while embracing all forms of beauty and identity.

“Fashioning Change” promises to be a landmark moment for advocates of inclusive fashion, setting a new benchmark for representation and inspiring future industry standards.
