London Fashion Week 2024

London Fashion Week 2024 is around the corner, and this year’s a big one — it’s the 40th anniversary of the event. From February 16th to 20th, the city’s buzzing with shows, talent, and the kind of creative energy that makes London’s fashion scene what it is.

It’s been a weird few years, to say the least — lockdowns, Brexit drama, and rising costs have thrown all kinds of curveballs at the industry. But here it is, still standing, still pushing boundaries. This season is all about showing off the UK’s boldest design voices — across both menswear and womenswear.

On the runway? Expect the heavy hitters. Burberry, 16Arlington, Roksanda, Emilia Wickstead, Ahluwalia, Erdem, JW Anderson, Richard Quinn, Simone Rocha, and Molly Goddard are all confirmed. Big names, big energy, big expectations.

And then there’s the rising crew. The NEWGEN spotlight is back with a fresh lineup: Conner Ives, Saul Nash, Paolo Carzana, and Sinéad O'Dwyer. Ives and Nash are bringing a new perspective to menswear, while O’Dwyer keeps challenging ideas around body image. Also worth watching is Tolu Coker — her debut show’s celebration of Yoruba culture turned heads, and she’s only getting started.

And speaking of NEWGEN — there’s a full-on exhibition happening. "Rebel: 30 Years of London Fashion" at the Design Museum looks back at the BFC’s game-changing talent platform, tracing the early days of names like Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, and JW Anderson. It’s the behind-the-scenes stuff fans don’t usually get to see — how designers are discovered, supported, and thrown into the spotlight.

Can’t snag a front-row seat? Totally fine. Just follow London Fashion Week on Instagram (or any of the BFC channels) for live coverage, interviews, and show clips. And that NEWGEN exhibition? Open to the public. Definitely worth a visit.

TL;DR:

  • London Fashion Week 2024 runs Feb 16–20
  • It’s the 40th anniversary of the event
  • Designers like Burberry, JW Anderson, and Simone Rocha will be showing
  • NEWGEN stars like Tolu Coker and Sinéad O’Dwyer are ones to watch
  • The NEWGEN exhibition is open at the Design Museum for everyone

Whether you’re glued to the livestreams or planning a trip to the museum, there’s a lot to soak up this season. London’s still got it.
