Selena Gomez was spotted wearing a practical but chic hairstyle that is perfect for surviving summer heatwaves and bad hair days. She sported double French knot braids pinned at the nape of her neck.

This hairstyle is an ingenious solution when the temperatures are high and hair tends to frizz and stick to your neck and face. The braided knots neatly pull back hair so it stays off your skin. Beyond hot weather, the braided knots are also brilliant for bad hair days when your hair just won't cooperate. Gomez's hair was neatly packed into the French braids with no loose or messy strands in sight.

Hairstylist Marissa Marino, who created the look, didn't provide step-by-step instructions but it could be easily replicated. Simply divide hair into two sections at the back and braid a French braid on each side from the hairline down. Then, pin the braided ends in a knot at the nape of the neck.

Gomez's romantic blue summer dress and dainty jewellery complimented the practical yet pretty hairstyle. Her natural makeup and ballerina flats completed the successful summer vibe. The actress effectively paired fashion and function with her clever braided knots.
